Frequently asked questions

If you have a question that's not answered here, please contact us

Does Hillside Software certify organisations?

No.  We are not a certification body.  We provide consultants who help organisations design and implement management systems that are appropriate for the business and comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 (previously BS 7799-2) requirements.  However, we can guide organisations through the process of being formally certified, and have successfully assisted many organizations in this way.  To find out more about accredited certification bodies in the UK, visit the UKAS web site.

Do you run in-house training courses?

Yes.  Most of our courses can be delivered in-house and customised to meet customer requirements.  In fact, most of our larger customers find it useful to have our auditing courses customised to reflect their own working practices rather than be based on a generic, 'vanilla-flavour' management system.  Also, in-house courses provide greater opportunities for attendees to raise and discuss issues pertinent to their own organization which might be inappropriate to address at a public training event.

Can I pay training course fees in Euros or US Dollars instead of Pounds Sterling?

Of course.  When making a course booking, please specify the currency to be used for billing purposes.

Is Hillside Software a registered 'Data Controller' under the UK's Data Protection legislation?

Yes, we are registered.  Our registration number is Z7644671.

Do you run training courses outside the UK?

Yes.  However, the courses can only be delivered in English.

What is 'TickIT'?

TickIT is an initiative that was started originally by the UK Department of Trade and Industry to raise the standard of software produced by the information technology sector in the UK.  At its heart is the ISO 9001 standard.  The TickIT Guide explains ISO 9001 requirements in software terms. Visit the BSi DISC TickIT web site for more details.
